Research
Our laboratory primary research is focused
on studying cellular metabolism implicated in chronic inflammatory diseases
(colon, pancreatic and oral cancer) and resolution of inflammation. In the
recent past, cellular metabolism has emerged as an integral process implicated
in generating key signaling molecules associated with various cellular
responses and processes including immune response, cell growth, apoptosis, and
redox homeostasis. Often, cancer cells adopt dramatic metabolic phenotype to
support proliferation and subsequent progression. Our lab is interested in
understanding the factors that influence/regulate proteome and metabolome remodelling
that facilitates such metabolic phenotype adaptations and develop potential
therapeutic avenues.
Our research
interest also includes type-I diabetic specific identification of novel
proteogenomic signatures associated with development of complications.
Secondly, to develop sensitive, accurate, and reproducible measurement methods
of biomolecules (especially proteins) to understand the pathophysiology and for
biomarker discovery.
