The National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBMG), Kalyani celebrated its Tenth Foundation Day on 6th of August, 2020. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic the entire program was streamed online.Professor Sunetra Gupta, Professor of Theoretical Epidemiology, Department of Zoology, University of Oxford, U.K; delivered the Foundation Day Lecture entitled: “Model as a Metaphor”. Her lecture was followed by a “Mini-Symposium on Recent Research Advances in NIBMG”, where there were three student presentations. Dr.SillarineKurklang talked about “Single-Cell RNA Sequencing in Dissecting the Cellular Heterogeneity Within a Biological System”; while Ms. KavyaVipparthi discussed on “Organoids- towards understanding the 'depth' of biology”. Lastly, Ms. NainaKumari explained about “Host Microbiome Interactions in Chronic Diseases in Humans” The faculty members, students and staffs of the Institute attended the lectures, interacted with the speakers and celebrated the Day with great spirit.
